Court Services (click to view brochure-Adobe PDF required)

Netcare clinicians offer services to the Franklin County Municipal Court and the Court of Common Pleas in the Adult and Juvenile Probation departments and the Juvenile Detention Center. This special group of clinicians assesses and evaluates court-referred clients to determine mental health needs and/or the nature and extent of the problems associated with substance abuse and dependency. This team works closely with other community providers, probation officers, judges, magistrates and Franklin County Children services to refer and link clients to treatment.

At the Court of Common Pleas, Netcare clinicians work with the drug court and mental health court programs by providing the initial diagnostic assessments and being active members of the treatment team. The drug and mental health court participants have current charges related to their drug and/or alcohol abuse or have mental health issues that that result in frequent appearances before the court. They are voluntarily involved with these programs in an attempt to expunge their recent charge and resolve the mental health/substance abuse issues.

At both the Municipal Court and Court of Common Pleas, Netcare clinicians provide the adult system with diagnostic assessments, recommendations for the level of care and initiate the referral process.

Netcare offers services to the Juvenile Probation Department and the Juvenile Detention Center by providing assessments related to lethality/suicide and mental health or substance abuse. Netcare clinicians make recommendations for the level of care and referrals to necessary providers. They are also a part of the Court Assessment Program (CAP), whose primary goal is reunification of the family unit. Netcare’s clinicians often attend court hearings of juveniles pending charges.

Referrals for Netcare’s court services can be made by judges, magistrates, probation officers, Franklin County Children Services or the Juvenile Detention Center staff.
