Netcare clinicians provide services to the Franklin County Municipal Court and the Court of Common Pleas. Most clients who are referral to Netcare Court Services are on probation, although a small group of “pre-trial” clients are referred, when the Court requests Netcare services during the trial process. This group of clinicians assess court-referred clients to determine mental health needs and/or the extent of problems associated with substance abuse and dependency. This team works closely with other community providers, probation officers and judges to assess and link clients to treatment. Assessments are done at the Netcare office located in the courthouse, or at one of the local jails, if the client is incarcerated.
Netcare clinicians work with the drug court (Common Pleas Court) and the mental health court (Municipal Court) programs by providing the initial diagnostic assessments and being active members of the program teams. The drug and mental health court participants have current charges related to their drug and/or alcohol abuse or have mental health issues that that result in frequent appearances before the court.
At both the Municipal Court and Court of Common Pleas, Netcare clinicians provide the adult system with diagnostic assessments, recommendations for the level of care and initiate the referral process.
