Crisis Hotline 614-276-CARE
Crisis Stabilization Unit

The Crisis Stabilization Unit is located at 199 S. Central Avenue. Clients, ages eighteen and older, requiring a further period of stabilization before returning to their home, but not in immediate need of hospitalization are referred from Netcare's crisis centers. The Crisis Stabilization Unit offers individuals, deemed to be at a moderate to high risk, an alternative to psychiatric hospitalization. Clients are admitted on a voluntary basis and may stay up to seven days. A multidisciplinary treatment team including physicians, registered nurses, licensed clinicians and mental health technicians provide clients with:
  • Crisis intervention and stabilization
  • Psychiatric nursing assessment
  • Physical assessments
  • Medication/somatic services
  • Observation
  • Individual and group counseling
  • Linkage and referrals to longer-term services
  • Education needed to return safely into the community
Discharge from the Crisis Stabilization Unit is based on self-assessment and a clinically appropriate disposition reached by the treatment team.
